DESCRIPTION: The dataset is on delivered on CD and is available in MapInfo, ArcView, ArcExport and Adobe pdf formats. The primary data source is the publication "Les mineralisations auriferes de l'Afrique de l'Ouest" or "West African gold deposits" edited by Jean-Pierre Milesi and published by BRGM in 1989. This publication is the source for a fully attributed geology layers and both mineral occurrences and deposits. Other data includes:

• Basemap layers from Digital Chart of the World.
• Digital elevation model from 30 arc second data of the USGS.
• Additional gold deposit and concessions information from Mining Journal, Mining Magazine and corporate reports (last updated 3/99.)

RESTRICTIONS: The dataset is for use as a single copy and may not be distributed to others. Those wishing to do so need to make prior arrangements with GeoMax.

OTHER:

• Custom analysis of this data, map production and/or reports are available from GeoMax on an individual request basis.

• The dataset is evolving and future versions may contain further refinements and/or additional information.
